INFIDELITY IS NOT A SIN, ACCORDING TO THE MAJORITY OF GOD-FEARING ADULTERERS
Infidelity is not a sin, according to the majority of religious people who enrich their lives with erotic extramarital affairs, results from a shocking survey today revealed.
The survey, conducted by Victoria Milan – a dating website for married and attached people looking to have an affair – asked 5,307 of its active members what everyone wants to know but is too scared to ask: if you’re religious and you have an affair, does it make you bad?
More than 70% of users of Victoria Milan belong to a religion, and the majority is Christian – 22.5% are Protestant and 19.5% are Catholic – just 28.5% identify as atheist or agnostic, and notable others are Orthodox (5.5%), Muslim (4.5%), Buddhist (1.5%), Jewish (1.0%) and Hindu (0.5%).
Though every religion teaches its followers not to covet sexy neighbours or embark in erotic adulterous adventures, 77.5% of people surveyed agree life is too short, and don’t consider infidelity an unforgivable sin – and more often than not, even if it is – it’s worth the risk.
Founder and CEO of Victoria Milan, Sigurd Vedal, said that having an affair is a satisfying and fulfilling experience – which is what a lot of people seek when going to church.
“Having an affair doesn’t mean you are compromising on your values or ignoring your moral compass – in fact, a fling more often builds up confidence in a person and allows them to be a better husband or wife, and injects a new lease of life into a relationship.
“Religion and affairs are more similar than people think: they both provide fulfillment, satisfaction and purpose in life. But let’s be honest: having an affair is a lot more fun that going to church,” Mr Vedal said.
