What is cheating spouse planning for Christmas?

Christmas is a time for cheating, according to a recent study conducted among 9,571 male and female members of Victoria Milan, dating site. Our study delves into intimate and interesting issues including alibis, gift gifting and liaisons with lovers over the festive season. 

The majority of cheating men (76%) and women (68%) are planning on meeting with their lovers during the festive period – both genders say their motivation for illicit hook-ups is that they are starved for good sex.

While family and friends may be present, the holiday period provides a fresh variety of alibis. Women manage to sneak away with the excuse of Christmas shopping (32%), while men are most likely to claim they have plans with old friends (33%).

Shopping for gifts may not be a complete lie though – nearly half of the cheating women (48%) surveyed claim they will be spending more on a gift for their long-term partner than their lover. The majority of men (56%), however, will be shelling out for presents for their mistresses. Both parties agree though that when they do purchase gifts for their partner or spouse, it’s to make them feel special and loved. The reason for buying gifts for lovers is to surprise and delight them.

Founder and CEO of Victoria Milan,** Sigurd Vedal**, said the results from our dating site clearly demonstrate that love is still alive and well, especially during the festive season.

“Love is in the air during the Christmas period. Love for long-term partners, affection for illicit lovers. Everyone has a different way of showing their love – whether it’s gift giving, spending time or making up excuses to buy time. What we do draw from the results however – is that although cheaters want to have amazing sex during the holidays, they also want to buy a gift for their long term partner that shows they care,” Mr Vedal said.
