Summer Loving: The peak season for online cheating

Summer has been declared the peak season for online cheating with clear evidence that the love lives of cheaters heat up with the weather, according online dating site, Victoria Milan, which specialises in helping married or attached people cheat.

We have noticed a spike in new profile registrations since the beginning of summer, with 21% more men and 17% more women signing up to the site looking for a good time with no strings attached.

Activity from existing members has also ramped up significantly. Seven out of every ten cheaters have increased their online activity since summer started – particularly in the cheeky online chat function where flirting is fun and easy.

But how do they find the time to meet their lover, when summer holidays are usually a time that you can’t escape family activities?

Victoria Milan polled over 3,000 of its male and female members to find out how they manage to meet their lovers during summer

From those who meet their lover during summer, the most popular method, shared by 32% of experienced cheaters,** is to send the kids away to summer camps or organise activities **that will keep them busy while giving the cheater some spare time.

Grandparents provide the perfect escape method for 28% of naughty parents, who bundle the kids off and then embark on their own adulterous adventure.

Nearly one out of every four cheaters will fabricate a reason to stay in town – close to their lover – and they’re most likely to blame it on work, saying they just can’t get away. And just 16% will quietly wait until their long-term partner is busy before they sneak away to get busy themselves.

Founder and CEO of Victoria Milan, Sigurd Vedal, said that summer getaways reduce the chances for physical hook-ups between cheaters, so they have to get creative.

“Most normal, married couples are bored of each other, and when the summer holidays stretch out ahead, it makes cheaters want to contact their lovers more than usual. We see a huge increase in online chats, and registrations have hit an all time high this summer. People are looking for summer loving – but not at home,” Mr Vedal said.
